Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to join our client's finance team in Delray Beach, Florida. This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and assisting with month-end close and reporting processes. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and a desire to grow within a dynamic organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
- Prepare financial reports and schedules for internal management
- Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or variances
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Assist in improving accounting processes and internal controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 2-4 years of accounting experience (public or private)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar ERP systems)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in multi-entity or fast-paced environments
- Prior experience with financial reporting and variance analysis
- Exposure to audit processes and internal controls
